Ireland needs to rapidy develop renewable energy sources and reduce energy demand in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Sensitivity mapping aids in planning and conservation in relation to the development of renewable energy. By highlighting areas most sensitive for birds, stakeholders can make wiser choices on the siting of renewable energy developments to minimise the impacts on birds.
